The Buy-Out option is best when you:

• Very tight time requirement - Items must be out ASAP
• You simply would prefer a straightforward price for what you are selling, instead of the uncertainty of an auction.

• A healthy mix of saleable items, but honestly, also lots of low-end / junk

  • If there is "too much" to go through and the time for us to properly go through, research, and catalog items looks cost prohibitive for what the auction might yield. A buy-out can be a reasonable alternative, if we own the items, we feel less responsible for sorting good items from the junk (as it would be our loss now, not our client's) and can move through things quicker. Donating low end items, trashing junk, and then finding buyers for decent items instead of trying to extract every available dollar.
• Very limited parking (or other logistical issues) that would make an on-site auction be a non-viable alternative.

Often, our buy-out options include us hauling out the low value items and even the trash, not just the more valuable items. The good, the bad, and the ugly all can go away.
